Highs and Lows

This week has been one of many highs and lows, well at least many trips up and down ladder as I started to prepare some of the bedroom spaces. I love the old pine lining boards on the ceilings but many layers of old paint had made them look untidy and gaps between the boards would allow warm air to escape and dust to work its way in.

After using my trusty 10-1 Sure-Line scraper tool scratch and scrape all the layers of paint that had built up in the beaded detail along each of the 'regency' style boards and sanding a bit here and there it was time to fill those gaps. Not 1, not 2 but 3 tubes of No-More-Gaps later and ceiling was ready for painting.

Many more trips up and down a ladder, as the boards are best painted with a brush rather than a roller. One coat of Dulux Professional Total Prep followed up with two coats of Dulux 101, low sheen wash and wear acrylic in 'Antique White USA'.

Stay tuned for the full before and after shots once I paint the walls and hang some blinds.
